Mitja Brgant is a Slovenia-based packaging and sustainability professional, the author of Breaking The Packaging, founder of VerdaLynx, and Director of Europe Operations at Trayak.

Mitja's career spans more than twenty years across packaging and product development, in roles ranging from sales and research & development to analytics and new business development. He has worked across both European and US markets, including a multi-year role as a market developer for Sealed Air Corporation in the Balkans and an operations leadership role as Chief Operations Officer at Forest Inc.
Since 2016 he has run his own consulting practice - Mitja Brgant s.p. - developing new business models and solutions, and has built Breaking The Packaging, his packaging-awareness initiative and book. Since 2019 he has served on the Board of Directors of QuickTap Limited, a beer-dispensing technology company. In May 2022 he became Director of Europe Operations at Trayak. He is also the founder of VerdaLynx, an EU sustainability-compliance platform and advisory practice.
Through VerdaLynx he helps European companies turn fragmented sustainability data into audit-ready business value - translating regulation such as the PPWR and CSRD into actionable, scientifically grounded strategies across life-cycle assessment, Environmental Product Declarations, ESRS reporting and Digital Product Passports.

Trayak is a product- and packaging-sustainability software company whose EcoImpact-COMPASS platform performs life-cycle assessment (LCA).
In his role, Mitja focuses on bringing Trayak's technology to the European market and helping European companies with the practical implementation of sustainable operations - from sustainability reporting (ESRS) to the Packaging & Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) and Digital Product Passports.
He is a recurring guest on the Packaging Europe Podcast and an active contributor to industry webinars and conferences on these topics.
